Need help to fix friend's '99 Sentra's waterpump w/ the 1.6L dohc engine. Need a how-to on how to do it, lol. Is it hard? I've done timing belts and so forth, just never worked on a '99 Sentra 1.6L much before, lol. Thanks.

If you've done a timing belt then a water pump is cake.

The water pump is external, chain doesnt need to come off. How to is like this, looses water pump puley blots, remove belt. Remove pulley from pump. support engine on floor jack with 2x4 between jack and pan. remove upper motor mount [for easier access] jack engine slightly, undo 5 or 6 12mm bolts holding pump to cover. clean area ,slob some goo on the new pump and reinstall in reverse order.

when taking the little housing off the side of the pump(back of engine) you will find at least one bolt extremely hard to get to. a plethora of sockets and extensions in 1/4inch drive will be nice hear.
