Hi I am kind of new in this forum and I want to get to mod my 99 path. First thing on the list before suspension lift is manual hubs. I can get warn hubs at 178.00 USD or I can get some other hubs starting at around 100 bucks. Is it worth to pay for warn product ? Is there anybody in here who pay less and are more happy with the underdog hubs?

I' am a absolut ignorant in pathfinder and in mechanic in general, so please explicit your answer. The only knowledge I have come from this forum and from what I saw there is plenty of it.

Well, Warn has been around for a long time. they have established themselves as a leader in off-road gadgets/ability, so paying a bit extra for their brand might not be a bad deal.

What kind of parts warranty do both companies offer? What is the other companies name? Superwinch maybe?

The guts of the manual hub should never fail with proper use. Ironically, manual hubs usually go on dry, no grease, and as odd as that sounds, well, it works.

The only problem I've seen with a manual hub was the outer aluminum cover couldn't come off because one of the 6 steel screws holding it on was corroded to it; you know, that whole dissimilar metal thing. However, the moving parts of the locking part worked great.

Expect to hear a bit more clicking going down the road, that's just how they "roll".

As far as what you should spend, that is up to you. After weighing all of the factors, what set will give you the best performance for the dollar and for the peace of mind. I would hate to have you get stuck in the middle of the trail because you tried to save a few bucks, however, it is almost a 2:1 deal for the "off" brand hub.

Personally, i think that shift-on-the-fly is totally badass. I have done almost every type of nasty off roading and have never had a problem with my stock hubs. Its not cool having to stop your car, get out, screw with your hubs and then be able to go off road. (sorry Boston). I would just stick with shift on fly...

The bearing who cost a third less than the warn are the Mile-Marker. From what I gathered this is a quite known brand.

First off I think $178 is waaaay too expensive for manual hubs, I wanna say that I paid like $95-98 with shipping for Warn locking hubs. Look/shop around a bit.

After destroying a couple of CV's I wanted to put as little strain on the on the axles on a daily basis as possible & from were I had owned a Bronco I was already used to getting out to turn on the manual hubs to get the 4wd going, so losing the shift on the fly wasn't a big deal for me.
