1999 QX4 Bose Head Unit Harness

Hi Everyone,

I was reading about how some newer QX4s have the 8pin aux in the back, however, my 1999.5 does not. I was looking at the back of the radio and one of the harnesses is not connected to anything. It was one of the white ones in the picture attached, pretty sure its the one on the right https://images-sc1.netdna-ssl.com/D/Fac ... mage-2.jpg . I was wondering if anyone knows what each of the harnesses are used for, perhaps this mystery port is an aux, or maybe steering wheel controls which mine does not have.

If I recall correctly that is for the steering wheel control.

Hey mfas, I don't know if this will give you any more of an answer beyond what astro had offered, but have you seen the FSM? In the AV section. You should find a wiring diagram telling you where everything goes from the headunit.

Thanks guys, since the Q45 had the same head unit could/has anyone grabbed a steering wheel control unit from a junkyard/ebay and installed it?

I am curious if the qx4 is prewired for this... I believe the terminals would also need to be on the clockspring on the steering wheel for the remote to work.
