My 1999 Quest GLE sits outside on my driveway. It is facing slightly downhill when parked. Rain is running down the windshield and into the intake vents between the windshield and the hood.

During significant rainfall events, water leaks in under the dashboard and pools up on the floor in front of the front seats, mostly on the passenger side.

Is there a way to set the vents when I park that will help to minimize or eliminate this leaking? Is this a known issue with the 1999 Quest or other Nissan models or years?

I can cover the vents if there is no other solution, but the garage is not an option at the moment. 8-) Thanks.

water should be able to get in the cowl. thats normal(as far as i remember). it should not be making its way into the car. are you sure thats where its getting in?

The water will not directly enter the cowl opening for the heater as it is raised about 2 to 3 inches above the base of the area the whole is on. That would be an awful high pool of water to run in the opening. I am thinking possibly its your sunroof drains are plugged at either side in the front.

yeah, i have seen alot of those but the headliner usually gets soaked. either way, its easier to drop the headliner than pull the dash.

never hurts to clean those drains out though. hmmm, new service idea.
