I have a 1999 Q 45t with only 80,000 miles. I have treated it with TLC and it has been a very good automobile. However, I was just informed that I need a new rear sub- frame and a Turbine sensor?? The sub- frame makes lot's of noise and it would be great to repair but I was unaware of the Turbine sensor. Infiniti states that it is leakng a small amount but that I will need to replace it this winter?? They also state that the Q is an expensive car to maintain and that I should be thinking about getting another one before the Knock sensor or other things break down. Any thoughts and or advice would be welcomed. I was considering up gradiung to a 2004 Q but now I am a bit concerned???

Turbine sensor is a somewhat common problem with this model but can be fixed at a good transmission shop for about $600. This model Q45 is very reliable but does require some maintenance. I have a 97 with 122,000 miles that is in very good condition; one member here has one with over 230,000 miles that hasn't had hardly any problems.

8-9 years is a lot of wear on rubber. If you're replacing your subframe, you might as well do the rest of the rubber and save on labor, since your stripping down your rear suspension anyhow to get to the subframe.
