was wondering what the factory size of my 17 inch wheels are?I think they are 17x 7.5??

Looking for an infiniti/nissan OEM direct replacement size wise.Don't have the money to go out and buy new tires right now.Whats out there that might be the same size? G35, M35/45???

thanksGM991

Not much with the exact same offset. Did you take your car to the dealer or register it with Infiniti Customer Service? There is a TSB on recall of those wheels for a certain series of VIN. If yours falls into that spread, Infiniti will repalce your wheels.

The TSB has been published here several times, so try a search.

Your wheels are 17x7.5. I think offset is 35mm, but check your owner's manual or FSM. About an inch too narrow for 255/45-17, in which size fewer good tires for the Q45 are made. This was considered the optimal upgrade about 3 years ago.

ThanksI have not registered it with Infiniti Customer Service. How do I do that? Can I just call a dealer and find out if the VIN falls into that recall? Is there a time limit as to when they would do it? It is a 1999.

thanksGM991

No, it is a constant recall. Some of the hubs cracked. Try to find the TSB as it will be most likely quicker and more accurate than the dealer. Just call Infiniti Customer Service and register as the owner. Number in your owner's manual, or probably on their website.

Your profile doesn't include your location, so I don't know where you are and which dealer may service you.

The recall info has been posted and I would trust the posted (copy/paste from Infiniti info) moreso that what's on the consumer guide web site.

As for wheels, there are some F50 17x7.5 wheels, pretty sure they're 6 spoke design.

the only reason I thought the 99's were not in the recall is because the dealer and consummer guide said the same thing.I did a search out here and didn't come back with anything on this recall/TMB

Thanks Brian for finding that ... it does appear the 1999 is not included, but I wonder what your dealer would say? Would they inlcude you to be safe or would they not have any idea what you're talking about. I think it's worth mentioning during the next oil change by the dealership.

There was an alternator recall, but that was only for 1997 (I hope I remember this one correctly).

Why one must read the ton of TSB on the FY33 and pick what's applicable to their vehicle.

Dealer ain't going to do squat for the wheels unless you detect a manufacturing defect yourself. Who's to say they weren't on a 2000 before you got it? Surprised the TSB does cite a wheel code as they are easily remountable on a different vehicle.

I guess that just bugs me a little. I understand if they aren't covered they don't ahve to do anything, but they should want you to think they'd do everything in their power to get Infiniti corp to take care of a customer.

True the wheels could be off a "covered car", but (sadly) again, I've heard stories where they'd only cover them if on a correctly matching VIN (to the recall) car .

Sometimes I think they forget the Total Ownership Experience

And they are warranteeing the wheel, carte blanche.

I thought someone here got them replaced when they were on a G50?
