I just got my second Q45.Its a 1999 touring with 130,00km (80,000 miles)nothing wrong with the interior....tan with all the options working well. The paint is the dark green...very nice....a couple of stone chips in the front. There is good rubber all around, but not new(35%).I loved my 91 Q and bought this because it was cheep. Is it as good as the old ones?I paid $12,000 cdn. (about $9,300 us.)I bought it from a widower and she needed to sell...too big for her.Was this an OK deal? These a very rare here in Canada and I don't know much about them. What should I do for its first maintanance?....timing chain?...etc.

Change all the fluids and filters first. Get the Infiniti Dealer service history form a dealer or Infiniti Customer Service after you register yourself as the car's new owner. Then report back.

If she hasn't delayed any maintenance, you have a great deal. It is a different car than a G50, but for some preferable as a daily driver.

Timing chains and their guides are not an issue unless oil changes have been missed.

Don't forget the cabin filter also.

Welcome to our club.

I agree with brian... Also my guess is spark plugs havent been changed yet... Fliuds to change include EVERYTHING, rear dif, brake fluid, PS, transmission, etc...

I think you got a really good deal, down here in the states they seem to always go for above 10k...

You won't find that car in L.A. with those miles in mint cond. for under 17k..... A 2000 @ the local Acura dealer was window priced at 23k.

I just bought a 99 Q45 with 45,000 miles for $8500. It's a rebuild. The shop told me they only replaced the front bumper and the airbags/seatbelts. The police report on CarFax says the car was totalled in March when it hit a curb and deployed the airbags. And that's all I know of its history.

Check with the dealership, you say? Do I just call up the local service department and ask about it, or is there some other number I should call?

I was in the market for a car, but I didn't know anything about Infiniti. This is a sweet car! (Not that I need to tell you guys that.)

I have some minor problems here and there (headlights seem too low, trunk closer is MIA), but overall I'm loving it, 17MPG and all!
