I changed my 1999 Pathfinder Automatic transmission shift indicator bulb to LED using the following LED found here: https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinf ... -base/201/

I changed the Ash Tray bulb to LED using the following LED found here: https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinf ... -base/226/

ASH TRAY BULB REPLACEMENT

Photo: 1999 Nissan Pathfinder Shifter/Ash Tray: http://s1042.photobucket.com/user/jmode ... o.jpg.html

First remove Ash Tray and then remove screw at the bottom of the Ash Tray housing compartment: http://s1042.photobucket.com/user/jmode ... f.jpg.html
(Notice White pronged bezel/bulb housing prongs sticking through Ash Tray housing compartment)

Remove bezel surrounding Shifter and Ash Tray. No screws involved, just pop the bezel up: http://s1042.photobucket.com/user/jmode ... q.jpg.html

Through the Ash Tray housing you will see a White pronged bezel/bulb housing on the passenger side of the vehicle. Push in the prongs to remove the bezel. You may have to remove the wiring harness attached to the bulb wiring: http://s1042.photobucket.com/user/jmode ... p.jpg.html

The bulb socket will twist out of the White pronged bulb housing. This picture shows the new LED bulb: http://s1042.photobucket.com/user/jmode ... 7.jpg.html
(The other wiring harness in the picture is attached to the Ash Tray bulb wiring and both attach to the side of the Ash Tray housing compartment)

Pull out the old Ash Tray bulb and replace with LED bulb. Once in, turn Ignition to ACC and turn on lights to make sure LED bulb works and has been inserted correctly. If it does not work, take it out and reverse the LED bulb. Push White pronged bulb housing back into Ash Tray housing and re-connect the other wiring harness if unplugged.

SHIFTER BULB REPLACEMENT

The Shifter Bulb Socket is located on the driver's side of the shifter and towards the front of the car: http://s1042.photobucket.com/user/jmode ... y&sp=false (This picture shows the LED bulb already in its socket. Yellow arrow indicates area of socket hole in shifter housing. You can't see the hole. The old bulb has a blue, rubber covering)

The Shifter Bulb Socket is hard to get to. You have to hold up the main shifter bezel in order to have enough room to twist the Shifter Bulb out of its housing. There is very little slack in the wire once the bulb and socket has been removed. Once you have twisted the bulb socket out of its housing, remover the old bulb by pulling it out.

Replace the old bulb with the new LED Shifter Bulb. Once the bulb is in, turn ignition to ACC and turn on lights to make sure sure LED bulb works and has been inserted correctly. If it does not work, take it out and reverse the LED bulb.

Once you have determined that the LED bulb works, put the LED socket/bulb back into the shifter housing. I had a hard time trying to get the LED bulb into the socket hole due to the length of the bulb and the shortness of the socket wires: http://s1042.photobucket.com/user/jmode ... sort=3&o=3
(In this picture the hole for the socket is just above and to the left of the socket where the RED WIRE exits)

Replace Shifter Bezel and Ash Tray screw.

Hope this helps.
