Hello, I have a fairly general question. My auto retractable antenna broke off in a car wash on a 1999 Pathfinder, and now I can hear the motor humming when I turn the car on and off. I also occasionally get a 'electric short' odor, and I'm wondering if this is what's causing it. Anyway, I was wondering what is the easiest way to disable this motor? Can I pull a fuse, or do I have to disconnect the motor separately? Also, is this easy to do? I'm not really interested in replacing it, as I don't ever listen to the radio, I just want to disconnect the motor.

I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me out with this. Thanks in advance!

I believe you can just pull back the plastic fender liner to access the power antenna motor and either disconnect the connector or cut the wires.
There are either screws or clips you will need to remove first.

I believe the power antenna shares a fuse with other electrical circuits so you can't just pull the fuse.

The antenna and power wires can be accessed inside the car where they pass through the fender well. On the lower right side, in front of the passenger seat, remove the plastic panel that is held in place by a couple of screws and the door seal. The power wire coming into the car has a plug connection you can detach right behind that panel.
