1999 Maxima SE security system problem?

My friends girlfriend just bought a new 1999 Maxima SE about a week ago. She was given the key, but it is not the master key (remote key) that is needed for the security system. She went to go start it this morning and it would not start. Inspected it and it seems to not start due to the security system and her not having the master remote key. Does anyone know of an easy way to bypass or fix the problem without going to nissan and having to replace the key for the $200+?

actually I think it might be a bad immobilizer, it will crank, but not start and the security light is on while it is cranking. Would I have to replace the ecu, immobilizer and key or could I simply use a immobilizer bypass kit?
