My remote and door mounted trunk release quit working. The automatic trunk closer still works. any suggestions?

Might be worth checking out the factory service manual... my thought is that you're dealing with two separate mechanisms, and the release solenoid is out.

thank you. pretty sure its the solenoid as when i remotely release it with a circuit tester in the line it lights up indicating a signal is being sent. same with the door mounted trunk release. at least i have a lock cylinder on the truck as a default. why nissan would remove that on the newer models is beyond me. solenoid is $100 from everything nissan.

The one on my old Q failed... it still made a noise, but didn't move enough to pull the lever over. These fail rarely enough, that I think a used one might be a good option if funds are an issue...

Sorry to hijack your thread. Does anyone know if I can install the 99 Q45 pull down trunk motor into my 98 so I can have courtesy trunk pull down feature? There is a guy who is parting out a 99 and has the motor and latch assembly for sale. Would be willing to buy it and install if someone out there has done this modification to their 97 or 98 Q. I would like to think it should bolt right in and plug right in, but maybe the 99 has a second plug connector? One for the trunk release switch and a second for the pull down motor?

Let me know either way.

Anyone know about the rear trunk harness hookup for swapping the 99-01 trunk pull down assembly into a 98? I'm ready to purchase the motor assembly, but need to make sure it will just plug right in or of it is an easy splice job if I get him to cut off a portion of the connector harness.

Thanks!!
