took it to the garage and checked out the car since there was a loud squeaking noise going on. We check under the car and all my 1 year old belts are chewed up and are about to rip. The center pully had a single bolt on it away from the center, is that normal?

the engine shakes alot and this noise i spoke of grew gradually, at first i thought it was just from the humid air but i guess it wasn't.someone help me if anyone has had this problem before. how much am i looking to spend? Any proper cheap fixes?

No such thing!

If you're talking about your crankshaft pulley (the BIG one driving several belts), then you have a large problem. Most likely it's your AC compressor or something, but post up a pic for us to see.

Could be the pulley bearings, motor mounts...

Does the enging have a stumple at idle?

yes when i turn the ac on and off the sound comes and goes, i have a slight miss every 1 min or so, nothing too crazy. motor mounts are fresh just did them 6 months ago same as the transmission.New plugs and all. wow im sad my baby is not doing well at all = [.

Damn its a shame she has been with me for 80000 miles trouble free in 2 years and a half. No other car ive owned out of the 6 have lasted me this long and been as lovely. Maybe soon she will be the parts car that no one could find within 80 miles radius of my neighborhood. she is paid off and well i think its time for her to retire at 145724 miles. im dying with all my debt and if its going to cost any more than $1300 she will have to go.

Gammer jan Barev aper!

Sad to hear about ur Q. Too bad there aren't good mechanics around our area, whenever something goes wrong you just pray that you can fix it yourself. Don't give up so soon, take it to couple of mechanics see whats up with it. If anything you decide to part it out, please let me know I need some parts.

Take care

The dreaded "engine stumple" is almost unsolvable!

i figured that one out by that old mythical thread, that's why i didn't bother with it and throw all my money towards it.
