i have a 1999 infiniti q45 and have a loud thumping sound coming from the drivers side front wheel. need advice or what it could be

How about some suspension maintenance history?

Inserts? strut bearings? Rubber gaiters? Antisway bar and links bushings? Tension rod bearings?

Hi Gary -

I'd be curious to know when the sound happens, specifically. Does it coincide wih wheel rotaional speed? Is it louder during turns, which direction? Is it only over rough pavement? Can you "feel" it or just hear it?

That'll help us narrow down the cause... it's pretty simple to diagnose things when we have the details. Then you won't be wasting time / money chasing and replacing... and a Q will bury you in costs if you replace stuff unnecessarily.
