1999 G20 won't run

I have a 1999 g20 auto. A couple days ago I changed the dist. cap and rotor. Took the car for a short drive and everything was okay. While driving to work the car died 5 miles from home . It would turn over but not run. The next day I got the car to start but it died about 5 miles later and has not started since. It will turn over and sound like its somewhat catching but it just won't run.I've verified good fuel pressure and spark. no blown fuses and rang out dist. wiring to the ecu.Reinstalled old cap and rotor- no help. I'm guessing I disturbed something near the dist/maf. Correct me if I'm wrong but the car should still start with the maf disconnected right? I'm at a loss here, I'd rather not throw parts at it as the car isn't worth it. I'm waiting for a odb 2 diagnostic scanner to arrive but I'm thinking about changing the distributor.

Any ideas?
