1999 G20 erratic remote door unlock/lock problem

Help - My wife is having trouble trying to lock/unlock the car with our remote. I've installed a new battery and tried the second remote with new battery. Sometimes the doors lock or unlock perfectly and sometimes they don't. Sometimes only the driver door will lock/unlock when using the remote. I called the Infiniti dealer and they wouldn't give us a clue whether it was the remote problem, antenna problem (is there a separate remote antenna?), computer problem or what. It's just a hassle driving 50 miles to a dealer, getting loaner car, etc. Any ideas on what to check or fix the problem. This is my first post so hope it ends up in right category. Thanks for help.

Get a Factory Service Manual. This will help you with future problems.

I'm familiar with the Q having a body control module(BCM). There could be something similar on the G. You could try finding a used one here(if it has one) in the classifieds cheap to see if that fixes it.
