1999-2001 Y33 owners finally have a solution. Tired of using a FM or cassette adapter and settling for that poor sound quality?

I figured out that this direct (not FM modulated) ipod interface: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-M...11NIS will work in 99-01 Y33s. I cannot confirm this will work for the 97-98 Y33 as I do not know which model BOSE HU they used those years.

I spoke with Crutchfield concerning this. The CSR told me that they did not make one for those years for the Q. I then remembered that the '99 Maxima and the '99-01 Q share the same BOSE HU. I asked him if they had an adapter for a '99 Maxima, and viola, the answer is yes. I spoke with several members on a certain maxima forum who confirmed this. I just put my order in, so we shall see

I just thought I'd give everyone the heads-up.

BTW, here is a code for $20 off any order from Crutchfield: 3A706

I have a Monster Icruze in mine. It has a limit of 9 playlist, which is fine for my Nano, but not for my 60gb. So I open it and flipped some dip switches so I can have direct access to my Ipod and not limmited to the 9 playlist. I like the Usspec since it has an aux input.

Now that's cool. Assume it will work with any analog device of correct voltage out put?

I wasn't aware that Monster or any other manufacturers were offering direct interfaces that were applicable. Thanks for the info.

What's your opinion of the Monster unit; sound quality, ease of use, etc?

BTW, the interface I posted along with the Monster interface do not work with the NAV HU.

I'm sure I can get that USA Spec model that Crutchfield has. I'll post the price I can get it for later in case anyone's interested.

The Icruze sounds much better then the casette adapters and fm transmitters I have used. The one thing I did not like about the Icruze is that it has a limit of 9 playlist and limit of 99 songs per playlist. You also can not use the click wheel when connected. I found a hack on the Ilounge forum where you flip the dip switches in module. Now I have direct access using the click wheel, but you can no longer control your Ipod from the headunit and the Icruze display does not show the song info. Monster had a sale for $99 for the whole set up includeing the display, so I jumped on it.

Would much appreciate settings used on the dip switches on your Icruze. Am wishing to do same.

Flip all the dip switches to oppisite setting. If you have the optional display it display TEST MODE.

Well, I finally ordered and received it today. I'll be installing it in the next week and I'll report the results for those interested.

The '97 does have a CD changer input. I'm hoping it's the same since I'm considering ordering it.Henry

Thanks for the tip. I've got the same USA SPEC iPod interface from Crutchfield and it works flawlessly with my 2gen iPod Nano and factory Bose. Here is the updated link:http://www.crutchfield.com/S-T...11NIS

BTW the coupon code worked too!
