I'm new to the forum and have been reading the various posts and appreciate all that have offered advice and opinion, especially the stuff that didn't work. Thanks.
I'm facing a replacement on the driver's side strut mount. I have followed the link to the step-by-step process (and pix!) posted by GQ Jay (forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/107345), but have some additional questions along the lines of what-else-should-I-do-while-I-have-it-apart?
Since I have not yet replaced the struts, I assume I should do that as well. The car has 89,000 miles. And since I'm doing the left side, I'll need to do the right. Should I replace the entire strut, or can I/should I just replace the "cartridge"? Is that even an option?
Also, what about strut/stabilizer bushings/caps/seals? Should any of those be replaced at this time?
And finally, as I approach the 90K service interval, what should really be done? I have the Infinity-specified list, but in reading through some of the threads it appears much more should be done. I generally take the car to the dealer for major service, but since the nearest dealer is now two hours away I don't have the luxury of taking it back for just one more thing.
Thanks.
