1998 s14 starting problems

i have a 98 240and theres a problem with it startingwhen i turn the key, it soundsweak crankingmy first thought was that the battery was giving upbut i had it testedthe charging system was fineand the battery passed the load testso we figured it was the starteri had a new starter put inbut still the same problemmy friend was guessing that maybe a piston ring is a little wornand im losing compressionbut i dont feel like im lacking power when driving itand my check engine light isnt on

any guesses as to what it can bethanks in advance

they're workingthe car startssometimes it sounds very iffybut when its running, and i drive itseems fine, and it doenst seem likei have any loss in power

check the alternator and then pull off ur distributor cap as well. i had problems with both of mine.
