So I bought my car with no remote and found two on eBay. I programmed one of them and it worked like a charm for 4 years. Today I dropped my keys (and the remote) and it busted open. I saved the parts and when I got home assembled them and snapped the unit shut. It did not work

I followed the reprogramming instructions...the same instructions that were successful 4 years ago. I tried to program one of the remotes, then the other and still...no luck.

I read in the instructions that a maximum of 4 codes can be used...and I take it to mean that the car can be programmed 4 times and that's it.

Not knowing the history of the car it could very well be that the last programming...4 years ago...was the 4th.

Is this a dealer item at this point? I really miss my keyless.

Have no fear there are a maximum of 4 differn't remotes that can be used on the car. But you can program them as many times as you want too.

Does the remote have anything missing or broken off on the circut board?

Thanks for the clarification. Not sure if anything is missing from the circuit board since it crashed on the ground. Little pieces could have scattered but it appears to be all in tact.

At this point I'm going to get new batteries for the two remotes and see if that works.

Life without keyless seems so primitive. Will post the results later. Thanks for the good news!

I changed the battery and now it works!
