1998 Q45 front struts

I'm new here but does anyone know where to get replacement front struts?I've searched and all i get id the $1400 aftermarket stuff...

to NICO! I'm pretty sure they're a dealer-only item. It looks like the strut cartridges are available for about $300 each. www.everythinginfiniti.com is one source.

Is the same true for 1992 model? I once replaced front struts w after market, though recently I see nothing for either front or rear

Update: I have tokico HU2892s on order for rear replacement. Can anyone name the other suggested parts for the job, like bellows, mounts? I've what look like seen discrete mount parts. If anyone's been through it, it's helpful to know.

So my shock absorber order fell through, it seems as if Tokico's are not readily available any longer/at the moment. I have seen replacement offerings for about $1000 for all four wheels, billed as rebuildable, but I know little of any such. Is that the only option for shock absorbers for early 1990/1992 Q45s?

It fell through becuase it doesn't exist. Tokiko never made anything for 97-01 Q45's, this car used KYB as OEM. There are only a small number of aftermarket choices and none of them are struts/shocks. You have your choice of a few coilover selections that is all that is left. No Monroe etc were ever made for this car, KYB SR Specials were a Japanese market option that were available here but you had to find them.

I put the BC Coilovers on my 97', they are stiff but the car is going to be a Q45M after you do it.

Advance auto parts and Infinitpartsdeal seems to have struts that aren’t $1,200? Thought I’ve been looking at rear struts.

I have a busted rear drivers side strut that makes the car rock like a boat on highway bumps, and does some pretty wild jolts on deep ruts coming off of bridges. I really want to get it fixed.

Maybe I should have started a new topic, my car is a 1992, and I think there were Tokico and others available at one time, though the offerings are slim now.

I did install a pair of Monroe shocks on the front of my 1992, though it's been a few years, and they are no longer available.

No shocks are available for my car, at Advance or Infi Parts Deal, either, I'm drawing a blank, so I may have to go the rebuildable route. Good thing is, shock replacement does not come along all that often, so to pay a little more is not too big of a deal. If anyone knows a source for the early Q cars, I'd love to know.

Does the Q45 share parts,like the struts, with other nissans? I don't suppose it would be that easy lol

The 1st Gen shared a bit with 90-96 300ZX, the 2nd Gen shared nothing esxcept for JDM Cima which it was based off. The parts are not available but sometimes the ordering systems do show them. The everythinginifinti shop (which is infiniti of Scotsdale) does sell the strut cartridge replacements but for a car thsi old sometimes the springs are pretty old and weak. If that is the case then doing the coilovers ends up being cheaper.

The first Gen Q's were Tokiko and they used to sell "Blacks" that were essentially stock performance and "Blues" that were stiffer and more performance oriented. Neithe are on the market anymore but can be sourced from a dealer. I did remember more options for 1st gen back in the day but none of them exist anymore.
