1998 pathfinder new airbags

Hello. I installed new airbags into my 1998 pathfinder 3.3 after a wreck but I still haven't connected them. Do I need to do some special reset so the airbags don't deploy again when I connect them again?

Welcome to NICO.

Disconnect both battery cables prior to connecting the airbags' harnesses. Reconnect the battery terminals. Afterwards, ensure self-diagnosis looks ok based on page RS-27 of the factory service manual.

You were supposed to use new bolts when installing the air bags, and ideally you should have replaced (or at the very least, inspected) the airbag diagnosis module as well. See RS-43 for details.
