I have a 1998 Nissan Maxima that has been in two driver side accidents. The body damage made it so both driver side doors do not fully engage the door switches when closed, and I believed the car alarm was disabled when I took it to the dealership. I am trying to re-enable the car alarm but for some reason the alarm won't sound after using the keyfob to lock the doors (I am testing this by manually pushing both door switches in, locking the doors with the keyfob, then letting go of one/both switches). The panic button on the keyfob still sets off the car alarm when held down, so I'm not sure why locking the doors with the keyfob doesn't also set off the alarm when one of the doors is opened after. I've checked all the fuses under the hood for Horn 1/2/3 and anti-theft and they all seem to be installed fine. Is it possible to re-enable the car alarm when a door is opened after locking them with the keyfob?
