Few days back, someone vandalized in the middle of night and broke the rear vent window glass of my nissan 1998 maxima gxe for no apparent reason. There was nothing visible in the car. He just broke and ran away as soon as the alarm started buzzing. The quote for replacement were 200+ so I decided to replace it myself. I got the replacement window from ebay for $45. I throughly googled but failed to find out this information anywhere.

Can you guys help me out. I have repaired lot many things myself but this seems to be darn hard.. No clue how to fit the glass (with rubber lining around) on the panel

i got multiple quotes on replacing my windshield and they were all under $200 so maybe you should look around more because someone wants to make money off you. you might need new rubber since the original one is 10 years old it might be hard and you might have problems with sealing. i've never done glass because i like to have warranty in case it starts leaking but i think the glue they use is very similar to liquid gasket.if you try to do do it yourself...good luck but since you already have the glass call around - shouldn't be paying more than $100.
