1998 Maxima Speedometer Problem

Just bought my daughter an 98 Maxima GXE with 85,000 miles, while driving it home from Florida we noticed the speedometer is slightly off. When going 80 miles per hour, the Maxima was turning 2700 RPM but registing 95 MPH. Any ideas on why the the speedo is off, and how to Fix?Thanks for any help.
