+1 to checking your spark plugs and looking for plugs with excess carbon to indicate that plug is running rich. Another item that can cause a rich running condition is bad fuel pressure regulator that is allowing fuel to be sucked into the vacuum line.
Many 95-99 VQ30DE rich or flooding fuel conditions that I've seen come from leaking injector o-rings and cracked pintle caps. That problem can be easily fixed by installed an injector rebuild kit that contains new o-rings, screens, and pintle caps. Also the injectors scan be sent out for service where they will be refurbished and tested.
I've used the CS Performance kit that I purchased on eBay to refurbish two sets of injectors to date. One set was used to remedy a chronic flooding problem. The other was preventative maintenance.
