I am planning to replace all of my Oxygen sensors as part of a tune-up, but I have no idea how many I have. I plan to go with NKG, unless there is a better option. Which ones do I get & how many are there? I also need to know where are they located. I have some experience working on cars, but never got into this area. Can this be done by a non-professional?

Thanks,
Dan

:welcome: to NICO!

I would think you have four sensors... one before each catalytic converter and one after on each side. If you aren't throwing codes, I would just replace the upstream (pre-catalytic converter) ones. Those sensors are the only ones that the ECU uses to control the engine's fuel mixture. The rears are just a check to make sure the cats are working.

We have found www.sparkplugs.com to be a great source for O2 sensors... the NGK/NTK oem equivalent appear to be a perfect match.

Soaking them with PB Blaster or WD-40 the night before you remove them has been said to help break them loose. Depending on how they're mounted, you will need either a special O2 sensor socket, which is just a deep-well socket with a notch cut in the side to accomodate the wire - or a crow's foot wrench.

You can download your car's factory service manual (FSM) at www.nicoclub.com/FSM/

Good luck!

It worked out very well! The oxygen sensor socket really helped the breaking loose of the old ones, really worth the $10. Thanks!
