According to my Google-fu the plug maybe for the steering wheel control if equipped or CD changer, I may be wrong on that. I didn't plug mine in and it worked fine. What kind of harnesses did you use and what kind of head unit?

I have no experience with the Schosche kit sorry. If anything I'd say double check your connections. I don't see anything wrong with using that head unit.

If your i30 is Bose equipped I'd get this:

No fuss harness adapter turns the proprietary harnesses into standard.

The Metra harness should be good to go, I'm assuming you used the 75-7551 model?

You shouldn't need the Metra harness. But when you receives the PAC ROEM NIS2 here's the way it should hook up:

===Stock audio====I----------------------I
I PAC ROEM NIS2 I===included harness=////==Sony harness====Head unit
===Stock audio====I----------------------I

You'll just be splicing(////) the Sony harness to the harness that comes with the PAC ROEM NIS2.

The PAC ROEM NIS2 will convert the Nissan audio connections into standard connections, means the colors should all match up as well. Most likely the Bose amp isn't being triggered for some reason, possibly because wire aren't matching up correctly. If the amp isn't triggered the speakers won't work.

I don't see why it wouldn't. I'm glad you got it all working. I was beginning to worry a bit there.

Check you wiring. You can also test your speaker using a AA battery: http://stereos.about.com/od/troubleshoo ... ctions.htm
