1998 Altima Start problem

Altima stopped running while driving. restarted and ran sputtering long enough to get out of traffic. Installed new filter checked spark replaced plugs and cap and rotor. Compression good, timing chain good. Engine will turn over but not fire, if i disconnect an injector electrical connection it tries to fire, now have been checking fuel pump. if i remove fuse for fuel pump the engine fires and runs for a moment any attempt to use foot throttle and it dies. Totally baffled unless it is the pressure regulator. Any ideas welcome!

that or your injectors are stuck open. the stock style injector is VERY weak and if alot of fuel additives or high ethanol gasoline is used they will stick open. but it is unlikely that all 4 went at once but possible.(ohm them out to check) also check vacuum lines.
