I Just purchased a 1998 240sx SE. I am planning on modifying it but I need some help. I dont know whether it is a s14 or s15 and how can I find out what engine is in it. I know it is a 2.4 DOHC 16V, other than that I dont know if it is a K??? or whatever.I would really appreciate any help.

Your engine is the Ka24de, and it is the s14. s15's unfortunately weren't available to the U.S.

Basically your KA24DE was used in the 240SX from 1991-1998 and in other nissans as well.

A few differences in the 95+ KA24DEs, things like ignition, MAS, ATS, and OBDII.

OBDII is 96+ BTW.

i hear that the KA24DE is a truck engine. is that correct?? if so, how should it be driven when raced?? i noticed that the engine isnt really rpm happy and at higher rpms i dont notice that much throttle responce and power.

well I've always thought that since our horsepower peak is at 5600 rpm's...shift after that but before you start to lag in the too high rpm's(don't really have any mods yet to help this out)...i'm probably wrong though-
