I have been looking for a 1998 for sale to find out how much they are worth. My friend's uncle has one and might be selling it. I can never find any that are for sale. How many of them were made and are they rare or something?

Yea around 8000 or 9000 depending on mileage, condition, etc. But I have seen some for sale has high as 14000 and as low as 4000. I got my 97 for like 8500 so somewhere around that.

There are no '98 models listed on Autotrader.com within 250miles of my area.

I know of one guy who's selling a clean, low mileage '97 5speed, he's asking $12k, will probably take $10k, and he's got a list of possible buyers trying to put together finances to complete the purchase. First kid to get a loan wins, I suppose.

The $8500 - $10k mark seems to be the standard, but your area may have so few that, given the current demand for these cars, the price could be much higher.

Depending on what options it has and condition it is in, will make a big difference. A dent/ding free 5spd w/ leather and less than 30k is going to go for ALOT more than a parking garaged dent 'n' dinged auto w/ cloth and 95k. To give you a real comparable price range more details are needed.

Basically, a low mile primo 5spd with the right options could ask and get $12k-ish and a beater (salvage title) could go for less than $5k.

Production Numbers for the 240sx were posted by Max Power a long while ago, they seem pretty accurate to me.

Im probably gonna get either Black or Pearl White if I can. In a hopefully 97-98 5SPD 240. Man thinking about it gets me all happy.

Thats cool then, ive been saving up since I was around 10 or 11 years old. Got about 10 Grand straight up plus my parents said theyd help with around 4 Grand. Im glad that I can accept almost any Silvia, but one around 8 Gs is ideal cause then I can put some cash into. Its just so hard to find the patience to wait for the perfect one to pop up.

Yea I know what you mean man, I had the money for a while before I bought the car. Just be patient and wait until you find what you want and you'll be happy.

Got my black 98 se 5spd for 11,6k with 72k miles on it. Average for a 98 has been between 11k and 12k lately, that's if you can find one. There were only 1000 5spd 98's out there in the us. I am sure alot of them have been wrecked by now.

My car is a 5spd 98' and its silver moss. I would be curious to know how many are in that color. I dont have abs or vlsd though, thats the only downfall. I wasn't even looking for another car when I found this one, but I had to have it. I LOVE it.

reminds me of seeing this amazing blue '98 5 speed for like 14k

this was in 2000 I think and the car only had 16k on the odometer

man it was killer:drooling....

I remember taking my lil bro to look at it and he said he didn't like it(he was looking for a car at the time, my mom thought about cosigning for him then, good thing she didn't)

man I'd love to have that car though.

I bought mine in 2000 and paid 12k w/ only 12k miles. My aunt worked at the dealership and it was the sales managers demo car. Very clean car.

I thought white looks bad *** untill I painted it dark gunmetal gray. I think s14 look better with a darker color but i guess i kinda miss the pearl white.

Damn only about 6000 made between 97-98? I didnt know it was that low. I paid under 10 for mine a few years ago w/ 92K miles on it. I actually got it from Carmax too and was able to purchase a 3 year warranty on it for transmission, block and drivetrain. It worked out perfectly as the trans went out at 98K. Guess I lucked out finding one.......5speed too.

I'm stuck way up here in Canada and it took me NINE MONTHS to find any S14 for sale. I ended up with a 5-spd 98 SE with ~30K miles and all the options I wanted. Worth the wait, and the long drive to pick it up!

Those production numbers back there are for the US only, correct?
