I've got a 98 240 se I'm selling, but now I'm thinking I might keep it and do some modifications to it. It's such a good car and in great shape. It could even be in better if i gave it a little love. I'm needing some advice on what to get and what it would cost. This is a car I drive to work and back, and keep in my garage overnight. I do no racing whatsoever in it, and i'm very gentle on the car. I just want it to look, sound, and feel sharp.

here are the things I'm looking at:

Exaust system. What all do I need. What's the best, what's the worst and how much will it cost for me to pay someone to do it.

Suspension. Same questions.

Clutch. Same questions.

Can i do any of this stuff by myself without any special tools?

I'm new to the boards and searching for all of this stuff is a foreign language to me. I see what maybe is good, but I have no idea what it means. I really appreciate any help you guys can give.

Thanks.

for a daily driver, I'd get a master bushing kit by energy suspension. Want better braking, I'd suggest better brake pads with better bite that fits better with your braking style.

Best exhaust is all relative. Some like quiet, some like loud, some like it bigger than their head and some like it incognito. Check out those shops online and see what different styles and sounds appeal to you.

for a stock car, you don't need an upgraded clutch.

you can do many things with just a basic set of metric sockets and wrenches.

Labor costs will vary from shop to shop and location to location. Call local shops for pricing.

thanks 180fan. I think I am going to go with the 2.5" system with 22' resontator and dual tips from BRM. It's seems the easiest and most practical right now.

I agree, the clutch can wait.

I'm so excited. I'm not a car guy at all. I think i may be turning into one. i love these forums.
