Hello. I'm changing my clutch and swapping a rebuilt 1998-1997 manual KA transmission into my 1995 (also with a KA24 manual) and i noticed that the newer transmission has a metal "sleeve" where the drive shaft connects too. If I insert the drive shaft in there it will lengthen it like 3/4 inch and it will not connect to the other half. Anyone know about this? Im thinking of just removing it.

Thanks for any advice! Here's a pic:

Call an import transmission shop and ask them. Then post the results. c

It's a dust shield on the new one..not sure why its there since even the alum driveshafts don't use it. I took a hammer to it and came right off. The hem driveshaft goes all the way in and its the proper length and works well without it
