I left my house this morning, drove about 1/2 a mile and stopped to make a left turn when I felt the car relax? Don't know how else to explain it. I was a at complete stop for about 10 seconds and the car made no noise, but it felt like it dropped a gear while completely stopped. Just sort of a sensation while sitting at a complete stop. When traffice cleared, I accelerated and the TCS off and SLIP lights came on in the dash. The car drove fine down the highway until I got to work. No problems. I pulled into a spot and turned the car off, then turned it right back on to see what would happen, and the overdrive light in the dash came on for 2 seconds, then blinked about 8 times and the TCS OFF and SLIP lights came right back on.

The car is in great shape. No problems. All original motor and transmission. Regularly maintained. 242,000 miles. Can anyone tell me what may have caused this or what to check. I've read the owners manual and see that the flashing overdrive means the transmission will be locked in 3rd gear, but I want to fix this car. Cannot afford to go to an Infiniti dealer for this. Please help. I love my Infinti!!!

By the way, I am not mechanically inclined and really know nothing about cars, so I need simple instructions on what to check, please.

Sounds like the ABS relay which is located on the ABS pump in the engine bay, about $25 and five minutes. Do a quick search for ABS relay on the site and see what you find.
