I read everything you guys write -- some great stuff and a little material like this. After 183k miles of regular maintenance and parts wearing out -- not going out -- had some major and minor RR done. If you are interested, this is what I had done: Scanned PCM for codes and data, road tested, checked the usual air, filters and fluids, front suspension & steering, front and rear brake pads, performed fuel system diagnosis, cleaned the induction system with MotorVac carbon clean, machined front rotors on-car (recorded the rotor dimensions after machining), power flushed and filled the hydraulic brake system with DOT 3 fluid, changed engine oil and filter (Mobil 1 10W-30 and NAPA Gold filter), changed both denotation sensors & wiring harness, new rocker cover gaskets, new air hoses, intake lower & upper gaskets, trottle body gasket, cleaned throttle body and other intake airflow areas, new NGK plugs, radiator & other coolant hoses, all (4) accessory drive belts, intake camshaft solenoids, front sway bar-to-frame mounts, radius rod bushings, left outer tie rod end, various new hose clamps, water pump, termostat, radiator pressure caps, vacuum filled the cooling system, set ignition timing to specs, aligned wheels, reroadtested, checked for leaks etc. IT RUNS GREAT AND PULLS 19.4 LBS OF VACUUM.

I am saying all of this to say thanks for all the technical advice. I heeded your advice.

scheeeeeeeeeeloOT!!!!!!

Quite a first post and quite a list. I'll bet that is one happy car.Did you do the work yourself? Or, did you hand it over to a trusted tech? Dealer? Inquiring minds want to know. Only because I am a neophyte Q owner and I have recently tackled some of what you did myself, and am planning on doing additional preventative and restorative maint as I have the time.

Welcome to NICO! I would use DOT4, although DOT3 will last a little longer in a high humidity environment.

Joe has great deals on M1 filters. Change your cabin filter also?

I did not do the work myself. A super tech that is truly a perfectionist did the work with the help of his state-of-the-art equipment. Thanks for the information, I did not know about Dot 4, but will ask my tech. And, about the cabin filter, I changed that.
