1997 q45 sputters every now and then

last night my Q started to miss a bit at idle not all the time… no check engine light…. It hangs at 600 and for a split second it pops and goes back to 600 from like 500…. The problem sometimes is not there and other times it’s there… it only does it in drive and sometimes it does it when I first give it gas… its driving me nuts… has anyone had this problem…. From what I’ve been looking around some other people have the same problem.. but from what I understand it does it all the time…please help if anyone knows what I should do next… just changed the fuel filter just to change it but I don’t think the problem is gone

This is a very common problem for Q45 97+. Search for "idling" problem for related links. So far, there's not really a really solid explaining for this problem/solution.
