1997 Q45 new alternator

Just spoke with Infinitiparts, they don't have new alternators, only remanufactured. I read here that everybody suggests to get a new one. Where do you people get them?

BTW, check the TSB as i think there was a recall on the 1997 alternators. If the car is out of warranty, as it most certainly is, the car is now probably not covered.

About time for recalled replacement units to start failing..........top mounted as they are.

Interesting comment. Does top mounting reduce the life of the alternator due to more heat?

Yes. The VH45DE mounting is cooler as it is under the block.
