OK i am very new to boards and my q45 so please bear with me here...I am haveing a strange problem with my baby. Upon start up she idles normal for a second...then drops like a rock sometimes stalls sometimes catches itself and reves back up. Also I smell gas inside the car. I have done plugs( yes the correct OEM original platinum lazer ones) and new coils , also both TBS sensors..please help me!! I love her but shes driving me nutz!!! LOL I am also haveing a few interior lighting issues but I am alot more worried about the mechanical stuff. Once warm she drives like a dream! Plenty of power :dblthumb: and grace..

check codes for trouble areas,it is obd2 which should make it easy to diagnose.

An EGR valve stuck open.
IACV, idle air control valve not operating correctly
TPS not set correctly
MAF sensor dirty

?
What range is she idling at.
Does it only happen when cold, on first start up warm or cold.
When warmed up does she run good, idle good?
More info=more helpful, info can be givin.
Cheers

Mine does this every now and then. She runs great after the hiccup if I can keep it going long enough to warm (on the 2 occasions it has happened).
Just did it again while on break at work, it died twice after trying to run for a few seconds. I just replaced the MAF and air filter and I have no other problems I know of, nor codes. Recently installed some LED's and HIDs but that shouldn't have anything to do with it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Amendment: I actually had the fans running for a moment prior to ignition.. (maybe a minute, two)
tried her again just a little while ago, and she started, warmed, and ran just fine

Cleaned my IACV which helped a little bit with the stalling, but she almost stalled again at a stop this morning on a drive to Seattle. Might check the TPS later when I'm back home. I read in the FSM the resistance I should be seeing on the sensor.
Jttoka what did you mean by not set correctly? Isn't it one of those things that either works or it doesn't?
