1997 Q45 189K miles
On JIC Coils and 19's 7 Series M Sport Wheels
I have had the car about a year and 1/2

ABS and TCS light are always on because JIC coils do not have provisions for the front ABS wheel sensors

Taking my off ramp on the free way the Slip Light began to flicker
ABS and TCM lights are no longer illuminated
Car will not Rev about 1500 RPMs while in D
While in N it will rev just fine

Checked the OB2 ECM for codes no codes are present*
My buddy broght his scanner he is a line tech at Toyota

I checked the tires VISUALLY no problems*
will need to double check with a PSI gauge

Checked The ABS TCS fuses , Checked OK*
Transmission fluid extremely clean*

I have only driven this car about 2000 miles since I have owned it

Just wondering if anyone else might know a simple fix
I am a disabled veteran and didnt really feel like bringing home a 100lbs floor jack
and a bunch of tools to work in my drive way on the concrete on my back

but I am pretty sure that is what it will come down to
also i been waiting for my other buddy to bring his MODIS over
but he always seems to be busy

Thanks in Advance

Max

:welcome: to NICO Max!

The 1500 RPM deal sounds like a failsafe mode of some sort. You might want to download your factory service manual and browse through it... www.nicoclub.com/FSM/

There is a whole section dealing with the TCS system in section BR (brake) that has some self diagnostics you can try.

Yea I looked at the FSM already
I'm not in a big hurry to fix this car
I have to get it up in my drive way first then bring some tools home

I have a strong suspension it is a real wheel sensor
which is $350 at my local parts store

Is he a Oil Change tech at Toyota? Line Tech is low on the totem pole as far as Techs go. Did he actually bring the Snap On/Toyota Techstream to you?

Not a "lube" Tech

I think the rank structure goes... Technician > Line Technician > Master Technician
We just used one of the cheap OBD2 Scanners

That's why I asked my other buddy with the MODIS to come over

I got a chance to put the car up in the air and unplugged the rear ABS sensor
With the car up in the air ran it up to about 45 mph with no problems
I am gonna try to put it on the ground tomorrow and test drive it
