I was thinking of using the CRC Intake cleaner to clean out the plenum and hopefully gets to the IACV.

Its in spray form and you run it through the brake booster, leave it for an hour, then give the vehicle a highway drive. Kind of like sea foam.

Is this method safe on to use on this truck without causing any damages? I have 180,000 miles and it is a 23 year old vehicle.

I will be changing out the oil right after giving it a semi-long drive post cleaning.

Shouldn't be a problem, although I'd pull the IACV and clean it off the car. The funk in there can get pretty solid, and chemical cleaning won't usually do it.
