I have a am -fm -cass. radio (with 4 speakers, with an amp and a diversity antenna) My question is- Can I use a Scosche Nissan diversity adapter to make a radio without the diversity antenna work. I was told it would not work because of the factory amp. If I go with a after market radio do I have to disconnect the factory amp. to make the radio work. I do not understand what the amp has to do with the antenna.

Yes, the adapter will make it work. You don't have to disconnect anything, just connect it right up. Btw, Scosche also makes a really nice dash adapter face if you need one.

My truck had the wiring chewed up by the idiot who owned it before me so I had to wire everything up myself. Just post here again if you run into anything you don't understand and we can help you out :)

If I read this right then all you need is the 2plug to single for antenna, I did this on mine so it will plug into my new head unit. I run the JVC head unit to a pre amp EQ to 2 amps which in turn run front and rear speakers and a sub box. To make the antenna with the stupid 2 prong plug work just get that adapter and plug it in then plug in the single plug to the radio. if you have anymore questions email me at [email protected]. I have done tons of stereo hook ups and happen to be a a plus certified electronic tech. be glad to help with any thing you need in that area.

Thank You for the response. I ordered a face plate,a wiring kit and a diversity antenna from E bay. The only thing that I did not understand, when looking at the diversity adapter,it stated it will not work with a factory amp. I have a JVC -KD -S570 radio/ cd player I am going to install, and with the second antenna port on the adapter, the plan is to install a docking station for a sirius radio.

There is no separate factory amp... probably a comment that applies to some models, but not yours.

Yeah even if it has amp that is not applicable to antenna hookup.
