Hello,
I'm the proud owner of a new to me 1997 Nissan Pathfinder 4x4. Bone stock, 132K and seems to be in pretty decent overall shape. I found a pair of factory fog lamps at the wrecking yard and installed them on the factory mounts in the grill. The wiring loom near each front turn signal had the fog lamp wiring and connectors present and they were taped up to the existing turn indicator wires. I attached them to the fog lamps and was pretty excited about almost having everything connected. I ordered a fog lamp relay from rock auto and was going to tie everything in with a fog lamp switch that i had picked from a wrecked early 90s pathfinder that was mounted by the console near the E-Brake lever. Since my car didn't have any spaces to add any switches in that location I popped off the plastic cover on the dash that was covering the radio, heater controls and the cut outs for additional accessory switches. I saw four wires (orange-black,orange, blue, black-white) that were factory ziptyed to a wiring harness but not connected to anything. None of these corresponded to anything i saw in the wiring diagram in my manual. I was wondering if the factory switch was not even located there at all as I saw in the rock auto catalog for the 1997 year that the factory fog lamp switch was incorporated into the headlamp turn signal stalk. If that's the case i'm out of luck. any suggestions on how to get this wired up correctly so that the relay works in tandem with the low beams and also shuts off when the high beams are on? Many thanks, bob
