hi there everyone.i just found this forum and it caught my eye instantlyi own a 1997 nissan pick-up with the fuel injected ka24e motor.

ive noticed over the last 50k miles its getting a bit... well slow.ive checked all my sensors and even gutted my cat (big mistake as 2 months later prices jumped to $140 for a foreign cat lol). everything about the truck is stock besides the air filter, ngk plugs and mud tires.

ive talked to several mechanics and some associates who own a vehicle with the same motor.

some say i need new injectors, some say turbo (dont wanna go that route cuz its ****en expensive). the motor itself has 168k miles.

i was wondering if anyone could drop a couple of hints my way of how to boost my ka24e power. i know that its not the fastest motor ever produced, but maybe someone knows an inexpensive way to beef it up.

im planning on getting thornly headers for it, hoping to help at least a little... any suggestions or comments?

Do a full seafoam treatment on the motor to get all the carbon deposits out and to clean the fuel system and see if that helps.

Sounds like the dizzy bolt came loose and you lost most of your advancement on the dizzy. Check your base timing with a timing light and then advance it a few degrees to see if you gain any power. Also, DO whats described above because KA lifters get crap stuck in them all the time and side feed injectors suck and need a good cleaning as well. peace.
