Hello all-I own a 1997 Maxima-Runs like new--About a week ago--I cleaned the Throttle body as i always do--after cleaning the Curb idle was right where it should be and the idle in gear was normal..

Today i noticed the idle in drive was about 600-when i turned on the AC the idle didnt change instant I could have sworn that it used to pop the idle up a hair.. The idle didnt change up or down-after 6 seconds it went up a little. When in Park at curb idle i get 700 750rpm--the engine idles mint--dont even hear it running--While in park-i turn the AC on--I now see the idle slowly head up to say 800 or so--which is normal--But i always thought the second you turned the ac on--you would see an instant change in the tach.. The only difference is--the past week it was in the 90s-today its in the upper 50s---is there a temp sensor that tells the computer that its not warm enough outside to pop up the idle up instant.. No engine lights--the car runs as it did when i bought it new--RUNS GREAT!!! On cold starts--the idle flares up as it should then comes down to curb idle as it warms up--Always did that!

So--my question is when i turn the AC on in Park or Drive-should i see an instant change in my curb idle reading or should it take a few seconds?

Thanks for any help!! Have a great day!! MARK
