1997 Infiniti J30 Radio Died

I have a 1997 Pearl Infiniti J30 - mint - with 34,442 miles (bought car when six months old with less than 5K miles). Only problem is that the radio no longer works. (If I disconnect the battery, and reconnect, the radio works for a few days). I'm giving the car to my mother. Any thoughts about how to economically replace radio with OE? Thanks. Audrey K. The bose stereo unit on the J30 was a weak point. They're known to go either prematurely or with age. Mine has been replaced 3 times, twice under warranty.

Your options for replacement are:

(1.)rebuilding the existing unit through the Infiniti dealer.(2.) finding a working unit of Ebay or through an auto salvage yard.(3.)Going to an aftermarket setup.

Your J30 experience parallels mine. I expected to replace it about seven years ago. But it kept outperforming. I'm sad to let her go.
