Vehicle:

1997 I3085k Miles

Location: Seattle (has been cold lately)

I was driving up the hill back to my house when I noticed the ABSwarning light came on. Then my car started to stutter up the hill. I started the car up fine the next morning and it was idleing fine, no ABS Light either. Once I put the car in reverse it stuttered and died, and I was unalbe to start it again. I don't think the starter would even turn over.

Other Info:

Pretty old battery. Brakes are at 60%. Brake fluid recently changed.

Could this just be do to an dying battery no operating the computer properly or do I have major problems?

Thanks.

If this is at high load and low RPM, I would would certainly have the battery inspected and load tested.

Thanks for the advice, the car was dead this morning, put a new Interstate Battery in and drove it around, looks like the problem is solved!

Glad that worked! Was your car in the reall years for the alternator? Seems like the 97s and 98 Maxima/I30 had a recall... might check with your dealership.

Found this information... again, I'd check with the dealership.
