Help!!! I am installing new axles in my max. I can't get the drivers side axle all the way in. I am suspecting the clip on the axle is the culprit. Any secrets I need to know? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!FFL

pull the axle back out. Rotate the axle so the c clip has its opening up. Place the axle back in. push it till it bottoms out. Place your hand under the cv loint at the trans to support it in a level angle with the trans. use your other hand at the outer joint to slide hammer it into the trans. it should practically fall right in. You wil hear/feel a deep "THUNK" when it seats.

Oh also make sure you got the correct axels. There are LSD axles and non lsd. The LSD has a larger shaft at the trans on the left side. Match it up to your old might be whats wrong too.

I'm sure the axles are the same. I pulled it back out once just to make sure it matched the old one. Really...the c clip has to have the opening facing up? That's it? I thought maybe I needed a special tool or something to compress the spring. I will try it first thing tomorrow.

You rock!!!

Thanks a bunch!FFL
