1997.5 limited edition altima, just how limited?

So being that this was my first car I always had a lot of love for it, even now that someone hit my rear quarter panel and damaged it enough to call it a total loss I still can't stand the fact that it got hit, but anyway

my question is, I have NEVER seen another altima with the limited edition stickers on the side of a first generation in my life, and I was wondering, "how limited are these friggin things?"

according to the internet, it was just an easy to find trim of the GXE, but I never found production numbers on JUST the ltd.

So, anyone know?

edit- among my fav. features of the limited edition is there is no badging of GXE, GLE, etc, just altima, looks SO much better

Not very limited at all. Basically it was Nissan clearing out the warehouse on all remaining 1st Gen altima parts. They stuck a badge on it hoping it would sell faster. My brother has one, no different from the GXE I used to have.
