Ok, so i'm planning to do a complete z32 caliper swap on my 97 240sx. I know the front ones are bolt on. BUt THe REAR, are they bolt? or do i really need the e-brake splash shield set?? i already have the five lug version. thanks to all giving me advice.

I'm doing the same thing on my 1996. Here's what you need.

Front: Z32 front rotors, pads, calipers, and conversion lines (s14 fitting on one end, z32 fitting where it connects to the caliper). The calipers bolt right on using the bolts that hold the existing calipers. The rotors will fit right over your 5 lug hubs. You will need to trim the splash shields first because the rotors are so much bigger they interfere - then bend the shields so they don't rub the rotors. (I used tin snips and a sawzaw for the cutting.)

For the rear you will need this: rotors, calipers, pads, conversion lines (same as before). You will also need the ebrake splash shields and pads, pings, springs, etc. You have two options when installing. 1.) If you want save 7 lbs and blow a bunch more money, use the aluminum nuckles that bolt to the back of the splash shields. They're lighter but require you to buy 300zx shocks. Otherwise (what I'm doing), disassemble your rear suspension and use the 300zx parts. There's a guy in the classifieds that is selling the eBrake stuff you need for less than $200 shipped. Unless you know something I don't, this is your best route. I called the local dealer and buying the new ebrake setup from Nissan is going to run you around $1000.00. You will also need Skyline R33 eBrake cables to be able to use all your new parking brake goodies. You can get them at mynismo.com. They're way cheaper than Courtesy Parts.

You will probably also want to use the 300zx master cylinder. You can just pull the plastic resivoir off of the 240sx's and pop it right on a z32s. Buy doing that, you can avoid having to change the electrical connector that gives you your low fluid light. It just plugs right in. You will have to bend the lines to their new mounting points, as they are completely in the wrong place after you put the new Master cylinder on. Also, one of the fronts will either need a little bubble fitting (found inside the 240s master cylinder you just took off.) You can destroy the old master cylinder to get it out or use a bubble flare tool to tweek the end of the line to get it like you need it.

If you have any questions other than that, hit me back. Just take your time and you will be fine. I'm still waiting on my r33 lines to finish all the rear stuff.
