I 5 speed swapped my 240sx and just got it back on the ground driveable yesterday. It starts and runs like normal. The car is driveable but first couple miles on very gentle driving the clutch would slip very bad at anything after like 2500rpm. After a bit of driving this went away and the clutch seems to be holding but it is noisy at around 3500 and above or under any kind of load almost more vibration noise. It does this if engine braking at all and also just under acceleration or just above 3kish rmps. I did search on this and can't seem to find anything that fits my symptoms. I did put in a used clutch but it had lots of life and it was an act stage 2 and matching pressure plate from same car. i used an s13 clutch pedal so I had to space out the pedal from floor is it possible I just don't have my master cylinder adjusted correctly? It was a real PITA to get the clevis through the pedal as I forgot to attach that piece before tightening down the master cyl to the pedal. I was tired and went to sleep without messing with too much adjustment. Any help would be great as this is my current daily and I need to know if it is ok to drive.

a zenki conversion would fix all your troubles. or give me your tan leather, that should do it too.

now that the formalities are out of the way, if the clevis isn't adjusted properly, the clutch won't engage fully and it'll slip. my clevis actually broke on me (that was an interesting ride home) and when i put another one in, my initial setting was causing the clutch to slip unless i grannied my acceleration. as for the noise, i got nothing for you homie.

I am thinking part of the noise is the slipping of the clutch. I am almost positive the adjustment is what it is. I really didn't want to pull that damn pedal again it is a b**** especially for a chubby guy upside down in the car with seats still in. If I had a zenki it would fix my problems I would crush the bish! :)

believe me, i know what it's like to work upside down in the footwell with the seat in. it sucks. it sucked harder removing the booster and and clutch master in the z without the interior.

you should be able to back off the nut against the clevis, and then spin the rod with a set of pliers to get your adjustment without removing the entire pedal.

I can imagine those cars are tight on the inside. I am ready to see that RB In there. I am hoping that fixes the issue and I can drive that beeotch tonight. The sooner I can drive it the sooner i can get my windows tinted and my sexy tan leather put in. :fistpumping:

Got it adjusted that clevis was it! It is shifting smooth and running good. Too bad it is still slow as FAK!!! I think I need to put my new shift knob and the leather interior in now. If i am going to be slow may as well be slow and shifting in style. The car is a ton louder than i expected without the boot and stuff in it.
