I recently bought a 1997 nissan 240sx that cost 9 grand.
83,000 milesautomatic ( i couldn't pass it up)
damn, 240sx's are teh ****. I bought it all stock, it drives like a champion. I bought the car with 17 inch rims on it. The back window tint is a lil bubbled up in certain areas, but it is hardly noticable. I want to install a few things on my car but i have no expeirence dealing with cars in general and i am in desperate need of some help. I need to get a service manual. I want to get one from the dealership i bought the car from, but they want 120 dollars for it? is it worth it? Should i look on ebay, lol. I am in the process of doing a couple things to my car and i would appreciate any help u guys can dish out.
first, i got an exhaust system called flo pro with a custom dual tip. I have a friend who works at a muffler shop, and hooked me up. Have any of you guys heard of flow pro exhaust(upgraded flow master)? And would it improve my hp?
I am also installing a car alarm called clifford concept 500, and remote start. Has anyone ever installed remote starts on there car? I need to finish up a cou0ple parts of the wiring of the alarm, the door tigger and the trunk release. After that, i am working on the remote start. Has anyone ever attempted to install a remote start system? It would be cool if i could get a lil help on the boards.
I am waiting for my aem short ram intake. If should be delivered by tuesday. I had to buy an extra adapter peice for the intake. I guess it regulates air flow? What the hell does it do? Will i have any problems installing it? I have a few friends that said installing short ram intake is pretty darn easy. Hopefully i don't run into any problems...
I also have a problem with my rotors. Everytime i hit the brakes my steering wheel shakes and i fell a pulsing feeling from the brake pedal. I think my rotors are warped. I was thinking of upgrading the rotors/brakes to 300zx setup, but i have no idea how to aproach it, lol. I see that a lof of people on these boards have them on there cars. If you guys have any info of where i can find the brakes that would be nice. Do they fit perfectly?
I want to do a 5 speed manual switch, but i need to save some mo money. A turbo would be nice to. btw, did i mention i love 240sx's? haha
After the exhaust and intake, what do you guys think my automatic 240 sx will run a 1/4 mile? I have never raced b4, so cut me some slack.
